Madara-Uchiha-madara-Anime

Madara Uchiha is the foremost antagonist of the Naruto series. He was a legendary shinobi who led the Uchiha clan prior to and after forming Konohagakure with his rival, Hashirama Senju. Decades later, he was revived by Kabuto Yakushi during the Fourth Shinobi World War.

Background[]

Madara and Hashirama as children

Madara and Hashirama's first meeting.

Born into the Uchiha clan before the era of shinobi villages in a time a permanent war, Madara grew up as a highly competitive boy and the older brother of five other Uchiha. After four of his brothers had been killed by the Senju clan, the Uchiha's rival clan, Madara met Hashirama Senju by a riverside while trying to skip a stone across the water, and the two formed a rivalry. After they had a brief conversation, the body of a shinobi drifted to the surface, and as Hashirama ran across the water's surface, Madara recognized him as a shinobi, before Hashirama told him to go home. Some time later, Madara met Hashirama again at the river, and, after comforting him and informing him of his own loss of four brothers, Madara managed to skip a stone across the water to the other shore, as Hashirama had done previously. After this, Madara began to meet Hashirama a regular basis, and the two formed a close friendship while training together and discussing how they wanted to build a village one day in the future, which Hashirama asserted would allow them to change the shape of the shinobi world for the better. Madara's interest in building the village, however, was so that he could watch over and protect his last remaining brother, Izuna. The meetings they had were not bound to last, however, as their fathers found out they had been meeting and each

tried to arrange a trap. Madara and Hashirama each warned each other about this, and their fathers and brothers ended up confronting each other. Madara and Hashirama each prevented their brothers from being killed and Madara, siding with his family, broke off his friendship with Hashirama, formerly introducing himself as he awakened his Sharingan. From that day on for many years, spanning from childhood into adulthood, Madara and Hashirama would battle on a daily basis. Along with training with Hashirama, Madara and his younger brother, Izuna, also competed and trained regularly growing up and the two formed a loving and strong bond. In doing this, Madara and Izuna both awakened their own Mangekyo Sharingan, which the brothers used to take control over the Uchiha clan, with Madara becoming its leader. Paralleling this, Hashirama became the leader of his clan as well.

Madara and Hashirama form an alliance

Madara and Hashirama form Konohagakure.

One day, after many battles, Hashirama and Madara fought with their brothers and some of their clansmen by their sides, in which Madara and Hashirama were evenly matched. However, Tobirama fatally wounded Izuna in their fight, and Madara rushed to his side. Hashirama then attempted to offer a truce to Madara to end the bloodshed between their clans, but at the suggestion of Izuna, Madara refused and fled with his dying brother. Afterwards, the living Uchiha left on the battlefield joined forces with the Senju and soon afterwards, the rest of the Uchiha lost faith in Madara. Izuna died from the wound Tobirama gave him, but left with Madara his eyes, making him promise to use them to protect the Uchiha. With them, Madara awakened the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. Some time later, Madara confronted Hashirama and the Senju clan by himself, where he declared that there would never be peace between them after announcing his brother had died, and he activated his Susanoo. After a long and exhausting battle that lasted a full day and night, Madara finally collapsed. Hashirama prevented his brother from killing Madara, and attempted once again to convince him to accept a truce with the Senju. Madara, however, stated he couldn't trust the Senju because of his loss of Izuna, and told Hashirama that to regain his trust, he must kill his brother or himself to wipe the slate clean between them. When Hashirama resolved to kill himself and told Tobirama not to kill Madara after he was gone, Madara stopped him, noting his courage and resolve, and accepted the truce. The Uchiha, the Senju, and all the clans they had conquered formed an alliance with the Land of Fire, who needed help controlling their territory, resulting in Madara and Hashirama founding the village they had dreamed of as children, in the very place they discussed building it in. As they stood over the village, Hashirama told Madara he wanted him to become the First Hokage, who would be the leader and protector of the village, adding he would carve Madara's face into the cliff they were standing on as a symbol of that role. When Hashirama brought up the subject of providing a name for their village, Madara named it Konohagakure.

After Hashirama left with his brother, Madara followed them and eavesdropped on their conversation, in which Tobirama discriminated against Madara and stated that no one would allow him to be made Hokage and that even his own clan believed that Hashirama had founded Konohagakure unassisted by Madara. Shaken by the distrust, Madara began to doubt the worth of the village. After Hashirama democratically became the First Hokage, Madara, who had previously read the Uchiha Stone Tablet his ancestor, the Sage of Six Paths, passed down,

told him that Tobirama would likely become Second Hokage when Hashirama expressed wish to make him that and told him that he would now leave the village to pursue his own, true dream, which he claimed that Hashirama would not be able to understand or take part in. However, Madara changed his mind and attempted to contest Hashirama for the title of Hokage before leaving, during which time, he attempted to force Iwagakure into serving Konohagakure after an alliance had been formed between the two villages, defeating Mu and Onoki, two Kage in its history, when they engaged him in battle as he did. After realizing that he would not be able to replace Hashirama as Hokage, Madara, having already been abandoned by his own clan, left the village and, after several attacks on it, sought out Kurama, the strongest tailed beast, and subdued him to use as a weapon against Hashirama and Konohagakure.

Madara later confronted Hashirama at the place that would later be known as the Valley of the End, where the two began their final battle stalemating physically, forcing Madara and Hashirama to switch to ninjutsu. Madara summoned Kurama to use him against Hashirama while controlling him with his Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. Hashirama used his Wood Dragon technique to bind Kurama and Madara fired a Tailed Beast Ball at Hashirama, which was countered by the latter's Wood Release: Wood Human technique. However, the Tailed Beast Ball exploded in its hand, forcing Hashirama to create a shield, and allowing Madara to use his perfect form of Susanoo and shape it into a suit of armor, which he clad Kurama with. As Hashirama caught one of his Susanoo's swords with a pair of giant wooden hands, Madara used the other to bisect them, along with several other hands, as well as six mountains with just one spinning swoop. As Hashirama tried to lead him away, Madara created another Tailed Beast Ball and stabbed one of his Susanoo's swords threw it, before boomaranging it at Hashirama, who managed to alter its course with his Tripple Rashoman summoning defense, which it easily devastated. After Hashirama attempted to reason with him to end the fighting, Madara rebuked him, becoming enraged when he mentioned the words "ours brothers" in his lecture. Hashirama then entered Sage Mode and used his Sage Art: Wood Release: True Several Thousand Hands technique to fight Madara and the two engaged in fierce, colossal combat, with Madara using a barrage of Tailed Beast Balls combined with his Susanoo's sword blades to counter the giant wooden punches of Hashirama's technique. He destroyed all of the statue's wooden arms besides its forearms, but Hashirama managed to beat off the Susanoo armor that Kurama was wearing, forcing Madara to retreat from its head to avoid one of the Wood Human technique's forearms, which knocked Kurama unconscious and allowed Hashirama to remove him from the fight. Madara then engaged

Hashirama directly and they battled in fierce, equal combat well into the night, resulting in them both being severely battered and exhausted, with Madara being forced to deactivate his Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan and Hashirama being forced out of Sage Mode. As they made one, final clash, Madara seemingly defeated Hashirama and struck him down. After disregarding Hashirama's pleas for the last time, Madara was suddenly impaled through the chest from behind by Hashirama, who had switched with a wood clone before they clashed. After listening to Hashirama say he would not hesitate to strike down any threat to his village, whether they were friends or family, Madara acknowledged that Hashirama had changed and declared that in the future Konohagakure would be swallowed by darkness as he seemingly fell dead.

Valley of the End

The valley created during Madara and Hashirama's last battle.

After the battle, which had left the landscape extremely scared, so much that a huge chasm, waterfall, and river formed an entire new valley, Kurama was taken by Mito Uzumaki, Hashirama's wife, who sealed it inside herself at the request of her husband, and two statues of Madara and Hashirama were created, facing one another in battle poses at the sides of the waterfall, symbolizing their undying rivalry. Despite the common belief of his demise, which even Hashirama believed, Madara managed to survive, and gained a portion of Hashirama's DNA, allowing him access to his rival's Wood Release kekkei genkai. Fading into obscurity, Madara outlived Hashirama, living through the first three shinobi world wars, and saving Obito Uchiha, his descendant, from death during the third. At this point, Madara had been reduced to using the empty vessel of the Ten-Tails, the original tailed beast, the

He had also awakened the Rinnegan, and implanted his eyes into Nagato, a member of the Uzumaki clan, during the second shinobi world war without the boy knowing, transplanting a spare Sharingan into his left eye socket. After revealing to Obito his plan to bring all of humanity into a genjutsu to make world peace, the Eye of the Moon Plan, Madara took him on as his apprentice, teaching him various types of forbidden techniques, along with other things, like Wood Release, Yin Release, Yang Release, Yin-Yang Release, and improving his Sharingan skills. Afterwards, Madara commited suicide, severing the tendrils on his back connecting him to his life support system and telling Obito to act under his name and revive him when the time was right to fulfil his plans as he died.

Madara and Mu confront the Fourth Division

Madara arrives on the battlefield

Madara Uchiha was revived by Kabuto Yakushi, a major antagonist of the series, as blackmail for Obito Uchiha, the leader of Akatsuki and Madara's apprentice, who he wanted to help in the Fourth Shinobi World War in exchange for giving him Sasuke Uchiha. In the war, after having lost so many other revived shinobi, Kabuto had Mu, the Second Tsuchikage(who had encountered Madara in the past), summon Madara to the battlefield. Freeing himself from his coffin, Madara voices his belief that Nagato, a man Madara gave his Rinnegan to, had revived him, but Mu tells Madara that he was revived by the Impure World Reincarnation. Shocked by this revelation, Madara and Mu confront the Fourth Division, where Madara learns of the formation of the Allied Shinobi Forces. Questioning Mu as to who the user of the Impure World Reincarnation was, Madara converses with Kabuto when he takes over Mu. As Kabuto requests him to display his legendary power, Madara dodges an

Repelling an attacker when Gaara catches his sword, Madara uses his Susanoo to counter the combined assault of Naruto Uzumaki and Onoki, the Third Tsuchikage, and begins to devastate the shinobi close to him. When Gaara pulls him from his defense, and into the path of Naruto's oncoming Rasenshuriken attack, Madara activates his Rinnegan, and absorbs the chakra in the attack. Conversing with Kabuto as to how much he knows of him, Madara uses his Rinnegan and Susanoo together and summons a meteorite, saying the improvements to his powers were his, not Kabuto's

As Onoki flies towards the meteorite, Madara recognizes him, and when he and Gaara manage to stop its descent, Madara commends them, before bringing down a second meteorite on the first, overwhelming them and killing off nearly the entirety of the Fourth Division's remaining shinobi. After reforming, Madara attempts to attack Naruto's shadow clone and the survivors of his previous attack with his Wood Release: Nativity of a World of Trees, and praises Naruto when he counters it with the aid of Kurama. Conversing with Onoki about the shape of the world and belittling the heavily wounded Tsuchikage, Madara states that mankind would be better served sleeping peacefully in the Infinite Tsukuyomi(the key genjutsu of the Eye of the Moon Plan). As he charges with Mu, Madara is repelled by Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage, who had just be transported to the battlefield with A, the Fourth Raikage. To his shock, Madara is confronted by all five of the current Kage when Mei, the Fifth Mizukage, is then teleported to the battlefield. Despite now facing the five strongest shinobi in the world in unison, Madara looks favorably upon this as a surprise, considering any less than the five Kage together against him to be

an inadequate fighting challenge. As he is assaulted by Mei, Madara leaps up to avoid her Lava Release: Melting Apparition Technique, and guards a punch from A that sends him downward. Activating his Susanoo's ribs, Madara is burried in another torrent of lava. Emerging unharmed, Madara uses his Yasaka Magatama technique to test the Kage's defensive abilities, and it is blocked by Onoki and Gaara. Smashing through their two-layered shield, Madara's vision is clouded by Mei's Hiding in Mist technique and he is repelled by A and Onoki's combined efforts.

As the battle rages on, Madara destroys Onoki's looming stone gollem with his Wood Release: Advent of a World of Flowering Trees, and knocks the five Kage into the forest from behind, where they pass out from the pollen there, and he tries to kill them with his Fire Release: Great Fire Destruction technique. However, Onoki manages to force himself awake, an uses his Dust Release: Detachment of Primitive World Technique to destroy the forest flowers and expose a face formed on Madara's chest from the DNA of Hashirama Senju, the First Hokage, which shocks the Kage. Hearing Tsunade's response, Madara asks if she is Hashirama's descendant, saying he will kill her first if she was and for that reason only when Mei tries to say that was an obvious battle tactic. Madara proceeds to degrade Tsunade for being so much less than Hashirama and for being a weak woman, but the latter argues that she was

not weak and that he should not underestimate the Will of Fire(Hashirama's passed down beliefs). Listening as Tsunade activates her Strength of a Hundred Technique and recites her rules for medical shinobi, Madara recognizes her strength to be greater than A's when she manages to fracture his Susanoo's ribs. Attempting to counter with Fire Release, Madara is repelled by Mei's Water Release attack, into a combined barrage by Tsunade and A, assisted by Onoki, that results in his Susanoo being destroyed and him sent crashing into the rocks below. Madara admits he was wrong to call Tsunade weak, but criticises her recklessness, as her death would leave the other Kage with no source of healing or recovery. Questioning what Hashirama had left the current

shinobi since they are so much weaker than they are, Madara tells Tsunade that all that can be passed down is hatred. Seemingly He is then struck by a powerful punch from Tsunade that seems to allow Gaara the time to seal him, but Madara quickly impales Tsunade from below with his Susanoo, before emerging from a tree root and revealing that the Kage had sealed only a wood clone Madara switched with to fool them ahead of time. Shocked when Tsunade breaks his Susanoo's sword blade and throws it back at him, Madara blocks it with his Susanoo's ribs and repels Tsunade into a boulder, before seeing that her technique heals wounds without the need of hand seals, similar to Hashirama. He then counters Onoki's Dust Release from behind, saying he can absorb it and that he let it hit him

before to show the Kage Hashirama's face to lower their determination. Conversing with Mei and Tsunade about the reason for the current odds, Madara creates twenty-five more wood clones, sending five to each Kage. Asking them to think of this as an acknowledgement their power(a retortment of Mei's statement seconds before), Madara questions the Kage on if they want the clones to use Susanoo or not, much to their collective shock. Watching on as the Kage are easily and progressively overpowered by the clones and their Susanoo, Madara curses Onoki when the latter saves A from death and spurs the Kage on. Recognizing him as the main threat out of the Kage, Madara is partially destroyed by a combined assault from all five Kage, that destroys his clones as well.

Madara's full strength

Madara unleashes his perfect Susanoo.

As he regenerates, Madara is attacked by Mei, using her Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique, which A had infused with lightning-natured chakra, and that also had Gaara's sand mixed in it. As the sand restrains him and his body numbed, Madara acknowledges the Kage's might, releases his final, complete Susanoo, and overwhelms their efforts. Telling the Kage that even their power was nothing compared to this, Madara tells them only Hashirama could stop him and that his being dead was in their favor, as he draws one of Susanoo's katanas and repels the five Kage, while simultaneously demolishing a large portion of the mountain range behind them with just a single sword swing, before finishing his sentence saying that if he was the only one they had to worry about fighting, the damage to the landscape wouldn't be as drastic. As he prepares to finish the Kage, Madara's Susanoo suddenly vanishes and he is engulfed with light, much to his surprise. Realizing the Impure World Reincarnation was released, Madara attacks the Kage with his Fire Release: Dragon Flame Release Song Technique, which Tsunade blocks before her technique finally runs out. When Madara's soul appears to come out of his body, the battle seems over, but Tsunade is then surprised to see his soul suddenly reincase in his body. He attacks her with his

Susanoo sword, but is surprised when she manages to dodge, and wonders if she had received some chakra when he sees her spirit had returned. Explaining to the baffled Kage that he had severed connection to Kabuto to escape the deactivation of the Impure World Reincarnation, Madara states that the only risk of the technique is that if someone revived by knows the seal, they can release their summoning contract with the technique, which he then proceeds to do, allowing him permenant access to the benefits of the technique, and destroying the possibility of ever being controlled by Kabuto. Criticising Mei for not realizing he was not the kind of person to allow himself to be bound by such a technique as that after fighting him, Madara states that he will not use his final Susanoo against them again, as it would insult his power since anyone who had seen it was supposed to die. Stating that he was now bored with fighting the five Kage, Madara decides to go after Naruto and get back Kurama, but is blocked from leaving by Onoki, which he finds unsightly. Reluctantly, Madara continues fighting the five Kage and defeats them, leaving

them all critically wounded, with Tsunade bisected by a tree, before leaving to join his apprentice, Obito, in his battle against Naruto, Kakashi Hatake, Might Guy, and Killer B, the Eight-Tails jinchuriki. Upon arriving, Madara comments that Obito seemed to be having fun, much to the shock of the Konoha shinobi present, who believed he was still with the Kage. Striking up a conversation with Obito, the two Uchiha ignore their opponents until Naruto asks what happened to the Kage, to which Madara answers that they are simply not "ok". Questioning Obito about why he was revived the way he was and why he had chosen to revive the Ten-Tails in an incomplete form, Madara is given back his gunbai, which he uses to block large stakes thrown at them by Naruto. Asking what

happened to Nagato, Madara is informed of the latter's betrayal, which he disregards. Declaring that he would catch the Eight and Nine-Tails and complete the Ten-Tails, Madara blocks and repels Naruto's shadow clone with his gunbai, instructing Obito to deal with Kakashi and Might Guy. Beating Might Guy and Killer B severely with Wood Release, Madara uses Hashirama's Wood Dragon technique to create a giant wooden dragon Hashirama used to bind Kurama in the past, and uses it to clash with Naruto's full transformation into Kurama. Absorbing most of Kurama's chakra, Madara restrains Might Guy and Killer B with his Wood Release, and attempts to attack B with his Susanoo's sword, but is blocked by Naruto and struck from behind by Might Guy's Daytime Tiger taijutsu move of the inner Eight Gates. Re-restraining Might Guy with his Wood Release, Madara reluctantly prepares for the final phase of his Eye of the Moon Plan after the Ten-Tails revives incompletely. Jumping on top of the head of the Ten-Tails with his apprentice, Madara rebukes Obito's desire to want to start the Infinite Tsukuyomi right away, saying it would be wiser to get rid of the opposition first, since beginning the ritual for the genjutsu would take some time, and that their opponents

would no doubt get in their way. When Naruto seems to begin to create more shadow clones, Madara states that would only multiply his incompetence. After announcing that Naruto and his friends were a disorderly crowd, Madara repeats that they are incompetent, before the entirety of what remains of the Allied Shinobi Forces confronts him and Obito. Madara chastises Naruto and Obito for arguing, saying that they should finish the battle. When the forces, guided by Shikaku Nara, hinder Madara and Obito's vision, as well as the Ten-Tails', Madara praises the following collab attack as being perfect. When Naruto attacks them with a platoon of shinobi, Madara declares the effort a pitiful one. Lamenting that attacking the enemy's mind was the basics, Madara contemplates that to do that in his and Obito's case, they would have to stop the Ten-Tails, which then breaks free in its mature state and repels Naruto and the others. Stating that it would soon get hard to control the Ten-Tails, Madara directes Obito to use Hashirama's cells to strengthen the bond between themselves and the Ten-Tails. When an allied shinobi throws the Ten-Tails off balance, causing their Tailed Beast Ball to be fired over a wide distance, Madara states that their control over it must not be complete if it was staggering just from that. Continuing to fire Tailed Beast Balls off over wide distances on purpose, Madara and Obito destroy several areas, including a town and, lastly, the Allied Shinobi HQ, killing off Shikaku Nara and all those with him. Madara then joyously declares that they had destroyed the alliance's mind, saying that was the basics. Lamenting that he had failed to destroy the HQ before Shikaku could rely his plan and that their control over the Ten-Tails wasn't good enough yet, Madara states to Obito that the present control they have will be fine until the next transformation. Responding to Obito's proclaimation that they would need to become a jinchuriki in order achieve complete control, Madara states that he needs a living body to do so. Replying to Obito following comments by saying he has quite the attitude now, Madara tells him to decide their next course of action himself after Obito says he had never thought of him as a friend. Hearing Obito's speech following the death of Neji Hyuga, Madara thinks to himself that Obito had become just like he used to be and that Naruto would give in. Continuing his observation of Obito as he reaches his hand out to Naruto to encourage him to join their side, Madara wonders if Obito is waiting for a response from Naruto after Hinata Hyuga steps in. As Obito readies a reckless attack, Madara reprimands him. After Naruto activates his Nine-Tails Chakra Mode and starts to disperse its power to his friends, Madara is surprised as he recognizes his actions and states that Hinata got a nice powerup from Naruto as she overpowers one of the Ten-Tails chakra arms. As the battle continues,

Madara and Obito severed from the Ten-Tails

Madara and Obito are unbound from the Ten-Tails.

Madara laments on the predictability of the alliance's moves and predicts that Shikamaru would then use his Shadow Imitation Technique next, as the latter does so and binds the Ten-Tails. As Naruto continues to distribute Kurama's chakra, Madara thinks to himself that two can play that game, as he launches more of the Ten-Tails chakra arms at the alliance. However, the combined efforts of Killer B, Mifune, the samurai general, Gaara's sister, Temari, and the present Hyuga members overpower his attack, and Madara is soon after bisected by an enraged Rock Lee, and forced to retreat from atop the Ten-Tails.

Teaming up with Obito to battle the allied army directly, Madara uses his Fire Release: Great Fire Destruction technique in unison with Obito's own powerful fire attack to assault the alliance, but they fail to kill or harm anyone, as Naruto uses Kurama's chakra to shield his friends. Madara then uses his Yasaka Magatama technique as a follow-up, but it is also countered by Naruto. Halting his attacks, Madara senses the chakra signature of Hashirama Senju, his rival, which causes him to give an excited and malevolent grin of bloodlust. As the now un-controllable Ten-Tails begins to use its Tenpenchii technique, Madara clads himself in his Susanoo to withstand the massive attack. Feeling sure that some of the alliance had been killed, Madara comes to see that Naruto, at the cost of his last power, has saved everyone again. However, all the chakra cloaks of the alliance quickly vanish and Madara states that he'll end it as quickly and painlessly as possible, as something else had caught his interest eye. However, many of the alliance quickly stand between him and Naruto, who is then being healed by Sakura Haruno. As the Ten-Tails prepares a gigantic Tailed Beast Ball to attack the alliance, Madara, noting that it wasn't holding back, questions whether it was panicking after sensing Kurama inside Naruto, lamenting on the shame that all the shinobi present that he was to depend on for fun would be destroyed instantly. After the Ten-Tails' attack is thwarted by Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage, and his rival and the other Hokage arrive, Madara greets Hashirama with a declaration of how he has longed for this day to come. When Hashirama responds that they'll settle their unfinished bussiness later(in regards to dealing with the Ten-Tails first), Madara laments that even after all these years Hashirama hadn't changed, stating that he still had his knack for getting under his skin.

After Hashirama makes some progress and creates some wood clones, Madara is confronted by one of them, who announces that it will be his opponent, having kept him waiting. However, Madara, aware that it was a clone, bluntly refuses to fight it, saying only the real one was worth his time and that he would wait until Hashirama was ready as he takes a seat. After being forced to, Madara dispatches the wood clone easily, noting that it was barely fodder as Hashirama was focusing most of his power on his main body. After

seeing a defeated and mortally wounded Obito arrive back on the battlefield from his pocket dimension, Madara, lamenting that he wanted to fight with Hashirama before becoming a jinchuriki, uses chakra receivers to stab and control Obito to use the Outer Path: Samsara of Heveanly Life Technique to revive him, so as to keep from losing his chances of containing the Ten-Tails, noting that he could no longer use Obito. Reflecting on his first conversation with Obito, Madara exclaims that the day that he would collect the favor his apprentice owed him has come. As the Samsara of Heveanly Life Technique begins to effect him, Madara notices Hashirama and Tobirama create additional clones to attack him, noting that they are being cautious lest they fail to reach Obito in time. Madara then states that they should know clones aren't enough to stop him, Madara counters Sasuke Uchiha's Amaterasu arrow with his chakra receiver rods, only to be thwarted by Minato Namikaze, who, having branded Obito with his Flying Thunder God Technique when he defeated him in the past, teleported a shadow clone to Obito which slashes his chest and ends the technique before it is complete. Disinterestingly lamenting on his failure, Madara is confronted by the six wood clones Hashirama created. After Obito had been able to use the opportunity to become the Ten-Tails jinchuriki himself, the clones of Hashirama and Tobirama vanish after Obito begins to show as a serious threat, Madara stating that while watching the previous Hokage cower in fear of Obito would be amusing, he can wait no longer to use his trump card, fearing that Obito will get ahead of him otherwise.

After Hashirama attempts to intervene in the fight against Obito, Madara cuts him off, telling him his time is up, and the two glance at one another in a death stare. As their rematch begins, Madara is told by Hashirama to get out of his way, but he says in return that he has no time for this either, but has no choice with things unfolding the way they had and that they should entertain each other for a bit longer, with both activating their full strength. As they continue fighting, Hashirama suggests that they put their battle on hold for a while, as Obito was about to launch a massive attack, but Madara declares that since they were both under the Impure World Reincarnation it would not matter if they got hit, and blocks Hashirama when he tries to get through, declaring he would have to go through him first. They were both later destroyed by Obito's attack. After reforming, Madara wonders if Obito means to start the Infinite Tsukuyomi already as the latter releases the Ten-Tails in its final form, the Shinju. As the Shinju begins to attack everyone and steal their chakra, Madara replies to Hashirama's question by saying that it was simply reclaiming was belongs to it, as man first stole chakra from the Shinju. As Hashirama knew nothing about what he was saying, Madara explains the history of the Shinju, which grew a fruit every thousand years that was forbidden to touch, and of Kaguya Otsutsuki, the princess who first ate the fruit, attaining god-like power, which allowed her to end war, and of the son she bore, Bagoromo Otsutsuki, the man better known as the Sage of the Six Paths. Explaining that the Shinju, determined to get back the power Kaguya stole from it, became the Ten-Tails, and that Bagoromo had defeated and sealed it within him to tame it, Madara answers Hashirama as to how he knows all this by saying that it was written on the stone tablet of the Uchiha, which Bagoromo passed down.

Continuing to explain that Kaguya's decision to steal the fruit's power to end war only arguably made things worse, Madara declares that he fell into utter despair upon learning this truth and that man's decison to eat the Shinju's fruit caused them to become cursed to spiral down a path of endless despair, citing that shinobi now are just reminders of past ignorance. After Hashirama asks him if his past statement about the "dreams of the future" mean't the Infinite Tsukuyomi he would use through the Shinju, Madara answers yes. Noting that his definition of it may differ from Hashirama's slightly, Madara states that when the the Shinju flower blooms, the eye within it would be reflected off the moon, and that the Infinite Tsukuyomi would become complete, citing that he would be the one to accomplish the feat. Continuing to clash with Hashirama, Madara tells him that even though Kurama and Gyuki were not in the mix, as long as trace amounts of their chakra were contained in the Shinju, it would be able to blossom just fine, telling Hashirama it would roughly be about fifteen minutes until it does, and that in that time he will replace Obito by using Hashirama's Sage powers against him, afterwards trying to collect some of his Sage energy with a chakra receiver rod. Continuing to fight Hashirama, Madara is restrained when Naruto arrives, who tries to hit him with a giant Rasenshuriken. This doesn't stop him, however, and Hashirama restrains Madara again to await someone able to seal him. Before that can happen, Madara has Black Zetsu take over Obito, who has recently been defeated and stripped of the tailed beasts, and force him to use the Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique to revive Madara into a living body, much to his delight, though his eyes from his undead form crumble out of his head.

Quickly, Sasuke tries to use Amaterasu on Madara, who simply absorbs enough of it and removes his armor, avoiding injury, and continuing to overpower Naruto and Sai, a teammate of his who had tried to seal him, as well as others, before grabbing Hashirama, unable to move because the rods stuck in his back, and absorbing al his Sage energy out of him while saying he learned this ability from an acquaintance of an underling of his, thereby allowing Madara to easily access Sage Mode through Hashirama's face on his chest. As Sasuke attacks him with a flurry of sword slashes, madara easily evades them all, before halting the sword's movement and noting Sasuke's eyes would do just fine until he got his Rinnegan back, before also noting it would be a waiste to kill him and proposing they team up as the last remaining Uchiha. After refusing, noting he just wanted his head, Madara uses his Fire Release to repel other attackers, before proceeding to absorb the chakra cloak of one of the alliance while noting he would now hunt down the tailed beasts as he senses them in front of him. Commencing his assault, Madara is shot through by a barrage of sand bullets fired at him by Gaara and Shukaku, which he declares a fine technique, but not a finishing blow. He is then immobilized by Gaara using sand particles, and knocked around by the tailed beasts until the Six-Tails pins him down with slime, allowing Gaara and Shukaku to seal him inside a giant sand pyramid. Madara easily breaks out with his Susanoo, before saying he would now put a leash on them, but is smashed down by Naruto from behind. Killer B and the tailed beasts then each use one tail to smash Madara, shattering his Susanoo and knocking his right arm off. Remaining unfazed by any of his injuries, Madara is soon joined by a White Zetsu clone, who had retrieved his right Rinnegan from Nagato's corpse at his command. Severing its right arm and replacing his own with it, Madara puts in his eye, declaring the real fun would now begin.

After laughing maniacally a the sensation of the pain he was in, Madara swipes his palm in some of his blood and summons the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path from within Obito, though Kakashi Hatake rips its right arm off before he san fully summon it. Taking note that someone on the other side has exceptional eyes because of this, Madara declares it nothing he can't handle and says its time to invite the tailed beasts back inside the statue. Noting that getting back his left eye would take longer than expected, Madara laments on having to remind the White Zetsu clone of what hes truly capable of. As he regenerates with Hashirama's power, Madara notes to clone that having it means he doesn't have to worry about any menial injuries, but says he'll try and be more alert for appearances sake, and that using the Rinnegan to his full power will leave no doubt in thie opponents minds as to his fighting prowess. Telling the clone he'll be right back, Madara leaps on top of the statue and uses his Rinnegan's Limbo: Border Jail technique to repel the tailed beasts. Declaring that they might be more willing to go back on their leashes now that their tamed some, Madara then binds the beasts, and Naruto and B around their necks with the statue's chakra chains, stating it was time to extract Gyuki(the Eight-Tails) and Kurama(the Nine-Tails) from their jinchuriki, much to their horror. Though he starts to extract Kurama from within Naruto, Madara agrees with the White Zetsu clone that in the meantime they should seal the other tailed beasts, deciding to start witht he One-Tail, Shukaku. When he tries to drag him in, Gaara uses his sand to grab the chain, prompting Madara to boomerang his Susanoo sword at him. Though Shukaku catches it and cuts the chains with a throw, Madara reforms them, takes control of it again, and directs it at Gaara, with the latter's automatic sand defense protecting him.

Dragging in Shukaku and the other tailed beasts, Madara extracts Kurama from Naruto just after it relays a request to Gaara, sealing it and the other tailed beasts inside the statue without any trouble. Lamenting on his work, Madara converses with Zetsu again, asking him how things were on the other side, before being attacked by Tobirama using the Flying Thinder God Technique. Dodging him, Madara disarms him of his kunai, which he teleports to and tries to attack again. Madara, however, easily evades him again, and defeats Tobirama just as he had done Hashirama earlier by driving his chakra receivor rods through his pressure points, rendering him powerless and immobile. Praising Tobirama's cunning in taking advantage of the time he had used fighting others, Madara declares himself the fortunate one this time and calls Tobirama's undead state pathetic compared to when he was alive. Noting the difference between them now, Madara delcares hes nurturing a new eye, though he is unsire if it will stay with him. Throwing another chakra receivor rod into Tobirama's head, Madara declares he has waited a long time for this moment because the latter killed his brother, Izuna, and explains the nature of the Eye of the Moon Plan and why he created it. Though Tobirama agrees with him about a dream world being different, he attacks Madara with needles to distract him from a air attack by Sasuke, which Madara counters by halting Sasuke mid-air and stabbing him through the chest with his own sword, despite Tobirama's pleas not to. Dispelling the statue, Madara llows Sasuke to fall to the ground, declaring that though his eyes are proof he was looking forward to something, defeat by his hands was his true end, before leaving behind his sword as he walked away. Re-summoning the statue, Madara absorbs it into himself, becoming the Ten-Tails jinchuriki and, declaring all thats left to be reclaiming his left eye, departs to go get it. Along the way, he notes his body has gotten a little heavy and spits out the two Treasure Tools of the Six Paths Obito earlier made use of, which he declares useless. Madara later arrives on Black Zetsu's location and declares he had taken too long, so therefore he decided to come himself.

Informed that the latter had been able to capture the other half of Kurama, Madara approvingly told him to bring it and his left eye to him, only for Obito to prevent him from doing so. When his apprentice asks him what he means to him, Madara replies that he is him, having taken on his resolve, going on to explain more of the Sage of Six Paths' history and how he'd dispersed his chakra to everyone in the world hoping to unite the hearts of humanity, only for them to instead use it to seek more power. Explaining that the Infinite Tsukuyomi would allow him to succeed where the Sage had failed by creating a world without chakra, Madara attempts to convince Obito to join his side by telling him he is still the saviour of the world. At this moment, Gaara, Kakashi, and Minato, the revived Fourth Hokage, attempt a perfectly-timed assault on him, which Madara effortlessly overwhelms in a few seconds, hacking off Minato's remaining arm and kicking it, with its Rasengan, and him into Kakashi's chest and Gaara, repelling the assault. When Obito got to him, Madara started to reach for his hand, only for Obito to drive it into his chest, telling Madara his actions were not that of a comrade or leader. Angered by this betrayal, Madara asked him if he wanted to join the corpses of all the others he'd had to step over as the latter absorbed some of his chakra. Failing to reclaim his left eye from Obito given his Kamui technique, Madara tells him he'll never be able to win over the tailed beasts from him, declaring Obito's efforts too weak when he only gets a small amount of Gyuki and Shukaku's chakra. Attacking faster than Obito could teleport himself, Madara mistakingly calculates he and Kakashi may offensively try to get his former apprentice into the Kamui dimension, only for them to instead use Kamui together and increase its speed times two when he tries to attack both, Madara refusing to just destroy them as long as Obito had his left eye.

After Might Guy arrived and saved Kakashi's life from Madara's attack, he noted that even with more reinforcements they could do nothing to stop him now. However, when Guy opens seven of the inner Eight Gates to fight him, Madara admits he'll have underestimated him if he got around to opening the 8th one. When Guy attacks, Madara easily dodges all of his attacks and overwhelms his Daytime Tiger move with one swing of his staff, which also beats Guy into the ground. He then attempted to finish him off, only for his student, Rock Lee to arrive and save him. Afterwards, Guy opens all eight gates, with Madara, upon realizing this, stating the blood vapor it caused looks like the color of dried, rotted autumn leaves, with Guy attacking him with his Evening Elephant move after a retortment. Tunnelled deep into the ground by Guy's first attack, Madara deduces its nature as being like an air cannon, noting he should avoid direct confrontation with it again. Flying out of the hole, he declares he will indulge a fight with Guy for a bit longer, stating its the least he can do since hes using all eight gates. However, Guy manages to progressively overpower him with the Evening Elephant move more, which Madara attempts to guard by gathering a black chakra sphere around him, only for Minato and the others to remove most of his black balls and Kakashi to create a hole in his defense with Kamui, allowing Guy to land a powerful blow on Madara that sends him crashing away. Having sustained only minor injuries, Madara declares he hasn't been this excited by someone since Hashirama, asking Guy to entertain him for a bit longer, much to the Jonin's surprise.

Guy proceeded to strike Madara with his most powerful attack, Night Guy, which critically wounds Madara, but he survives and laughs off the pain as he regenerates the damage done to him. To repay him for the entertainment, Madara attempts to finish off Guy instead of letting him suffer further, but Naruto counters him in time, Madara being surprised to see he'd attained new power. Naruto proceeds to overpower the still weakened Madara with his lava-made Rasenshuriken, which he dodges, but it cuts the Shinju in half, with Madara complying to its request to absorb it, fully restoring Madara's power and increasing even further. When Sasuke arrives, Madara contemplates he has the same powers he and Naruto have newly attained together in one body, declaring this next fight will settle whether he or they are the stronger. Launching a powerful Lightning Release attack made specially in his current form, Madara attacks Naruto and Sasuke, who manage to counter with their new powers, Madara afterwards using his Limbo: Border Jail technique to repel Naruto after hacking his staff in half with a beam of lightning he fired from his mouth. Deciding Sasuke's eye would be a perfect fit for him after realizing he could see the shadow version of Madara he could create with Limbo, Madara is impaled through the heart when he tries to make his move to take it, being unaffected by it. Wondering if this was the ability of Sasuke's Rinnegan, Madara laments how much better he'd of been as an apprentice than Obito as he pulled the sword out, acknowledging that he'd have to accept that Naruto and Sasuke weren't just kids anymore now. As they attempted a powerful combo attack, Madara switched with his shadow version and swiftly flew to Kakashi, ripping out his left Sharingan, which he used to teleport after Obito into the Kamui space after Sasuke bisected him, which didn't even slow Madara down.

Once inside, he throws his staff at Sakura Haruno to prevent her from destroying his left Rinnegan within Obito. Though his former apprentice sent Sakura back outside, Madara drove his hand into Obito's chest. Noting that the seal he'd placed on his heart to stop him from becoming the Ten-Tails jinchuriki and prevent him from committing suicide was gone, Madara laments on how Obito had chosen to remove it by letting Kakashi impale him. Madara then reveals that everything that happened in the past in regards to Rin dying and how she'd been made the Three-Tails host was all his doing, not Kirigakure's, and that with that, he'd take back his left eye as the last thing he needs from Obito. Returning outside fully regenerated and with both his Rinnegan back thanks to Black Zetsu controlling the dead Obito's body, Madara told his opponents that dying together would also be called teamwork, before effortlessly overwhelming Sakura Haruno when she attacked him, and driving her, Naruto, and Sasuke back with ease using his Limbo jutsu, which he could now produce four shadow versions of himself with. Madara then asserted that the show would begin now as he flew into the air, then using his Chibaku Tensei technique to create several massive spheres, which he threw down on his enemies, allowing Madara to fly close enough to the moon to activate the Infinite Tsukuyomi by remving his headband and opening the third eye on his forehead, which begins reflecting off the moon's surface. Casting the Infinite Tsukuyomi at last, Madara traps nearly the entire world(everyone but Team Seven, his Zetsu allies, and the undead Hokage) in the genjutsu and proceeds to use his God: Nativity of a World of Trees technique to bind all of his victims and connect them to the Shinju to let it reclaim its chakra from them.

Landing after the light of the genjutsu fades, Madara declares he will kill Naruto and the rest of Team Seven, who had been protected from the genjutsu by Sasuke's perfect form of Susanoo, as the savior of the world. Declaring to his opponents that he had made Hell into Heaven and that Naruto had no right to interfere with everyone's happiness, Madara was, to the shock of both himself and his enemies, betrayed by Black Zetsu, who ran his hand through Madara's heart from behind. Telling him he was wrong about everything and that it was Kaguya Otsutsuki's will that existed within him, Black Zetsu starts to take over him as Madara screams in agony. All the chakra from the Infinite Tsukuyomi's victims pours into Madara, causing his body to bloat until Black Zetsu merges with him completely and revives Kaguya in his immortal body, despite Sasuke and Naruto's efforts to prevent this. After Kaguya was eventually sealed and her essence, as well as the Tailed Beasts removed from him, a dying Madara is revealed. After Hashirama approaches him and they discuss their respective dreams, Madara dies after Hashirama tells him he still considers them comrades unto the end.

Personality[]

Madara is a very confident and prideful man, but is not above praising the abilities of others and is willingly to admit when someone is stronger than he is. Madara has a very deep hatred for the Senju Clan, particularly Hashirama, his rival, shown when he said he would kill Tsunade first out of the Kage just for being his granddaughter and in his making every resortment to kill him during their last battle. Oddly enough, Madara also has great admiration and respect for Hashirama, saying he would have taught him to rise from the dead if he had known how weak modern shinobi would be compared to them. Madara is also an honest man, and will admit when he is wrong, as he told Tsunade that she wasn't weak at all after she showed her strength, having previously degraded her for being a weak woman. Madara gives constructive, but harsh, criticism when others act recklessly or sloppily. Madara also has a dark sense of humor, shown when he asked the Kage if they wanted his wood clones to use Susanoo or not after he turned their five on one advantage against them, when he referred to incinerating his forest as "creating coal" after knocking the five Kage into it, and when he said they were not "ok" when Naruto asked what happened to them.

Madara is also a battle-loving individual, with high standards in judging a worthy fight, openly stating that any less than the five current Kage together against him would not have been an adequate challenge. He also took pleasure at the sight of the destruction caused on the battlefield by his Tengai Shinsei, commenting he hadn't enjoyed such a sight in a long time. Madara will even go so far as to keep his opponents in a fight alive as long as hes enjoying himself, prolonging the fight extensively, though at the same time never allowing excitment or fear to overtake his compusure, and maintaining great caution, as he created a wood clone of himself at some during his battle with the five Kage when they lost sight of him in order to lessen the chances they'd catch him off-guard. However, going with his pride, Madara, even in battle, has a superiority complex, and will try to discontinue a fight if he grows bored or uninterested in it, and will at such a point mercilessly crush his opponents if they try to make him continue, a trait shown in his battle against the five Kage, where he ruthessly struck them all down and left them in critically condition, overall nearly killing all of them, when they tried to prevent him from going after Naruto.

Although Madara has shown to be capable of giving mercy, shown when he held back from killing Onoki in the past, seeing him as a child, which Madara doesn't believe in fight seriously against, and in his refusing to fight him seriously in the present due to him being seriously injured, despite feeling desire to explore the enhancements to his body done by the Impure World Reincarnation, Madara is not above acting ruthlessly to accomplish his means, be it towards enemies or allies alike, as he unhesitantly moved to sacrifice his apprentice, Obito Uchiha, after he saw the latter had been deathly injured by Kakashi, forcing him to use the Samsara of Heveanly Life Technique in effort to be revived, despite knowing that the process would kill him if it was successful, declaring that he was no longer useful and knowing that only Obito could revive him(which the latter earlier implied to be unwilling to do).

As a child, Madara was a very kind, irascible, and competitive boy, shown in his comfort of his rival Hashirama after he learned he lost a brother when they were kids and when he thought he had hurt the latter's feeling due to his short temper(which he would lose easily when things annoyed him). As a child, Madara shared many of his rival, Hashirama Senju,'s goals and this led the two to develope a close friendship. They even warned each other against traps their fathers layed out. Just like Hashirama, Madara felt that enemies should become allies and he too wanted to create a village, though his reason differed from Hashirama's; while his rival wanted the village to be built to keep children from being forced to fight on the battlefield, Madara only wanted it so that he could watch over his beloved brother, Izuna. Having lost his four other brothers to war, Madara became fiercely protective of Izuna, who seemed to look up to him. His loyalty to Iznua and the Uchiha clan as a whole was such, that he chose them over his friendship with Hashirama. After this, Madara and Hashirama's rivalry became much more fierce.

Powers and Abilities[]

Madara-cuts-two-mountains-off

Madara levels mountains with his perfect Susanoo.

Madara is an extraordinarily powerful shinobi, the second strongest of his time, second only to his rival, Hashirama Senju, and was able to survive every battle he ever fought with him. Madara is the most powerful member of the Uchiha clan that has ever come into existence, outclassing every other Uchiha. Only his brother, Izuna, was considered his equal. Madara is the first to ever be able to subdue, control, and summon a tailed beast. During his last battle with Hashirama, Madara was able to fight evenly against him for the entirety of the fight, in the end forcing Hashirama to use a sneak attack from behind to defeat him, though it should be noted that Hashirama may have been trying to keep from killing him all the while so that he could attempt to reason with him some more, as shown at the end before he impaled Madara. Both of their overall combat prowesses together in the battle create

d an entire valley. Even when still a child, Madara was a skilled prodigy who managed to kill several  much older and more experienced shinobi by himself, which even his main enemies took note of. Due to the manner of his revival and the experiments done by Kabuto Yakushi, Madara was able to maintain all the power he had amassed by his old age, while at the same time retaining the youthful body of his prime. To top it off, Madara's release of his contract with the Summoning: Impure World Reincarnation gives him unlimited chakra, an undying body that will always heal, and immortality, making it nearly impossible for him to be defeated in battle. Evidence of this was shown when Madara proved to be so overwhelmingly powerful, that he was able to overpower and nearly kill all five of the current Kage multiples times by himself, while holding back most of his power and leave them in a state of horror and awe at the sight of his final Susanoo. Tsunade was so baffled by Madara's legendary prowess as a shinobi, that she questioned how her grandfather had really defeated such an opponent in the past when they, the five Kage in unison, couldn't do so in the present.

Madara Uchiha's Rinnegan

Madara's Rinnegan

This testament to Madara's incredible power was later shown further when he managed to defeat all five Kage together single-handedly. Madara is extremely intelligent, being a battle-oriented genius, able to

Madara Uchiha's Sharingan

recognize and counter most forms of ninjutsu almost instantly, create a makeshift life support system for himself in his old age, and teach Obito various forbidden techniques easily. Madara is very knowledgable, knowing things that even Orochimaru, one of the Sannin and an extremely smart ninja, doesn't. Madara has and is a master of all his clan's kekkei genkai, and also has the Rinnegan, which only he awakened.

Madara mastered the Sharingan at a young age, and is the most powerful Sharingan master in the series. Using it, Madara can see chakra, predict enemy's physical movements, and place them into a paralyzing genjutsu(illusion technique) at a glance. His skill at using genjutsu with

Madara Uchiha's Mangekyo Sharingan

Madara(right) and his Mangekyo Sharingan

the Sharingan is so great, that he can subdue and control Kurama with great ease. Madara was the first to awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan, along with his brother, Izuna. At the time of his brother's death, Madara implanted Izuna's eyes at his request, awakening the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, which allowed him to use his eyes without strain and without danger to his eyesight. With this, Madara can use his most powerful techniques; Amaterasu(undying black flames that form close to their target and that are nearly impossible to dodge), Tsukuyomi(a very powerful genjutsu, with which he can paralyze his enemies and torture them in their minds), and Susanoo(his strongest weapon and defense in one, which can protect him from most anything, and

Madara Uchiha's Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan

Madara's Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan

whose complete, perfect form can level mountains and, at the same time, overpower, repel, and corner the five current Kage at once). His skill at using genjutsu with the Eternal Mangekyo  Sharingan is so great, that he can place a Kage like A, the Fourth Raikage, into a paralyzing genjutsu at a glance, despite A's claim that the Sharingan was useless against him, and control Kurama, while battling his rival, Hashirama Senju, without any extra effort. During his last battle with Hashirama Senju, Madara used his perfect form of Susanoo in a unique way, shaping it into armor for Kurama, which massively enhanced its offensive and defensive capabilities, to the point of overwhelming Hashirama's initial, but extremely formidable Wood Release techniques, quickly forcing the latter to activate Sage Mode and go all out to be able to fight on par with him. A testament to Kurama's power after Madara did this was the fact that with one attack, a combination of Madara's perfect form of Susanoo's sword stabbed through one of Kurama's Tailed Beast Balls, it was able to create the immense waterfall and river at the Valley of the End. Notably, Madara's perfect Susanoo is Tailed Beast size, and

the five current Kage were immediately terrified upon witnessing it, which Madara stated no one before them had done and survived(besides Hashirama). With the RInnegan, Madara is able to use the abilities of the Sage of the Six Paths, but has mostly displayed absorbing chakra. Madara is able to use his Rinnegan in conjunction with his Susanoo to summon meteorites and use them for mass destruction. When he began to display this ability, Gaara awe-struckenly questioned if Madara had the power of a god, which was evidenced quickly when Madara wiped out the majority of the Fourth Division with one attack.

Madara Uchiha's Great Fire Annihilation technique

Madara's Great Fire Annihilation technique.

Madara has extreme prowess with nature transformation, being the most powerful Uchiha in the use of Fire Release, able to use enormous fire techniques capable of incinerating a large group of shinobi or a large portion of a forest with ease, and that are of such strength, several Water Release techniques at once are needed to hold off and douse them. After his last battle with Hashirama Senju, Madara gained his rival's Wood Release, and its component natures, Earth and Water Release, which he has shown to be very skilled at using, able to use

high-scale techniques that are on par with Hashirama's and that are difficult to dodge or counter. Madara is able to merge with and hide within wood and create one or more wood clones to use in battle. Madara defeated Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage, via bifurcation with just one use of his Wood Release. He is also able to create a giant wooden dragon capable of overwhelming Naruto's full transformation into Kurama, and was also able easily restrain Might Guy and Killer B, both extremely quick and powerful shinobi, the latter being the Eight-Tails jinchuriki. Madara is also very skilled with Earth and Water Release, shown in his use of Wood Release to his current level. Madara's chakra prowess was extraordinary in life, being extremely strong, even by the Uchiha's standards, and being excessively massive in amount, able to use his perfect Susanoo, which he manipulated into a suit of armor, and control Kurama at the same time after having summoned him while remaining completely unfazed in his last battle with Hashirama.

Madara Uchiha's taijutsu

Madara kicks a shinobi

In terms of physical prowess, Madara is a very powerful taijutsu fighter, having great physical strength and speed, and remarkable reflexes. His speed, strength, reflexes, and very precise movements allowed him to fight the entire Fourth Division by himself. His physical capabilities equaled those of his rival, Hashirama Senju, on ever occasion they fought on as adults. In the manga, He was able to repel a shinobi twice his size into an oncoming group of shinobi, knocking them all off their feet, with one roundhouse kick(in the anime, this particular shinobi was simply slashed to death and Madara roundhouse kicked another after attaching an explosive tag to him). In the anime, Madara was shown repeling a shinobi with a single punch and half burrying him in sand. Madara was also able to easily dodge Gaara's high-speed sand attacks, Mei's close range Lava Release attack, and even guard against A's punch while the latter was clad in his Lightning Release Armor using only his arms.

Madara Uchiha's dance-like kenjutsu

Madara slashes through the alliance with his unique swordplay.

In addition to taijutsu prowess, Madara is a very proficient kenjutsu fighter, able easily commandeer a sword if he is without one and cut down several enemies before they can react with great versatility and flexibility. Madara's trademark weapon is a very large gunbai(war fan), which he is very skilled at using, able to easily produce a chakra barrier capable of blocking large projectiles, turn the force of an enemy's technique back on them, and, in the anime, produce large gusts of wind capable of repelling a large platoon of shinobi with ease. He also carried a large Kama(scythe) with him when his final battle with Hashirama took place and showed to be capable of using it in conjuction with his gunbai as a double melee weapon.
